The Truck is here...now it's gone!

The moving 'semi' truck arrived at 10:10am on Thursday, June 28th, just like we scheduled. We felt prepared for this event. We were wrong!

12 hours later...the truck left will my all of our belongings AND we gave the $6,000. The truck is on its way to Connecticut...we hope!

We had an awesome party with family and friends on Saturday night. We were able to spend time with many people we will miss very much and hope to see again when we come to visit.

We are staying with my dad. I'm back in my old room.... how silly. Rob is off to Minnesota Sunday morning. The boys and I are going about our business. I work until Thursday and the kids are going to summer camps. The dog gets to fly on the 9th and we will leave on the 10th. Rob will already be in CT after he is done with the year end club volleyball tournament.

Check back for more pictures and updates as our departure grows closer.

Christy and Rob,
Wow! It's really here! By this time tomorrow, you will officially be living in Connecticut!! I've been checking the Machan blog now and then for moving updates, and I have to say, that it makes me feel like a treasured old friend. To be included in the whole emotional and physical journey has truly been an honor. From the moment I met you, Christy, back in February, when the move was just a 'maybe' and then meeting Rob a few months later when it was a 'go', I knew I had met some very special people.
I thank you for trusting me, (and my GPS!) while searching for just the right home. I believe that even though there were moments of PANIC, (by all of us!) I truly know that you have found a house that will very soon will be a comfortable familiar retreat for the whole family...Home. I really wish I could be there tomorrow when your boys check out their backyard for the first time! I bet they will run around in circles throughout the yard screaming with joy with Fly chasing them gleefully! (By the way, the previous owners left the swing set!!) Even when I stopped by 47 Highfield on the 4th of July to open the house for the cleaning company etc, I felt so at peace being there...You have a wonderful new home, in a great neighborhood and a quintessential New England town, Monroe. I wish you all the best with your new life in CT, and I will be in touch once you are settled in. Always remember that I am just a phone call away if you ever need anything. Have a safe journey and I look forward to seeing you soon in CT!
All the best,
Mary MacKenzie
